Versatile Grow Bag

Product Description

‘Versatile’ Grow Bags are cut and welded to any length – fill it with your own compost (you know best).

Available in black or clear 10"/25cm wide polythene. Clear polythene allows you to check out moisture and root condition. The Grow Bags are made for single row planting to allow more air space between rows, when two or more grow bags are used side by side.

We weld Grow Bags to your exact length requirement i.e. the length of your Greenhouse or Patio, decking, windowsill – anywhere.

You can have one metre or a hundred and one metres – it’s your choice.

Imagine for a moment – a grow bag running along the hard shoulder of the M6 motorway from start to finish. Run a ‘trickle’ type hosepipe through it, plant it up with lettuce or any brassica, harvest when ready – could that solve part of our future food problem?

These grow bags are already on trial in Kenya – the method of growing is:

a) Make a shallow trench
b) Lay the grow bag in it
c) Fill it with good quality compost
d) Plant it up
e) “Earth up” – i.e. cover it over with poor quality earth, rubble or sand, to shield the roots and early growth from the sun – it goes without saying that water conservation is at its optimum.

Trial sites are, in the first instance selected by members of Rotary International.
